About The Coach House
With eight unique and beautifully designed rooms to choose from when you stay with us, a luscious outdoor pool and a beautiful garden area, this is accommodation that is unapologetically perfect for your visit to Franschhoek.
This charming house was built in the year 1897, making it the perfect place for you to stay while you tour this historical area of South Africa. Since then, the house our guests know and love, has been beautifully renovated with sympathy for its original character and charm.
Solo travellers, couples and friend groups will enjoy our spacious rooms that come with double beds, with some that can be converted into twin beds for your convenience. In the mornings, wake up in paradise with breakfast waiting – a buffet-style continental that can be enjoyed in our Breakfast Room or under the stoop, allowing you to take in the stunning views at the break of dawn. What a start to the day!
About the Area
We are located on Dirkie Uys Street, which is only a ten-minute walk from Franschhoek’s main road and just a short stroll away from the restaurants and shops that have made this village world-renowned.
There is so much to do close to where you will be staying. Lovers of wine can take a ride on the famous wine tram and visit one or two of the many award-winning local vineyards. If you’re hiring a car, Cape Town and Stellenbosch are easy to get to, as are tourist hotspots Cape Point and the penguins of Boulders Beach.
We take care of our guests and make accommodation of this standard accessible to everyone with free private parking at The Coach House, as well as offering an airport shuttle service which is available on request.
A warm welcome awaits from husband and wife management team, Jenny & David Hofmann.
As Franschhoek locals, they know all the hidden secrets of the village to help make sure you have a wonderful stay at The Coach House.
They are experts on what to see and do and are always happy to recommend the best wine estates and somewhere delicious to have a bite to eat.
Guests of The Coach House can expect to receive the warmest of South African welcomes from this pair who have proudly adopted an open-door policy where anyone is welcome, creating an inviting and friendly space for all their guests.
